97 GTS tight steering at speed

97 GTS...Idling or half throttle the steering is nice and loose requiring minimal effort to turn.. Once I get into higher speeds, it takes a good effort to crank to the stops. Is this a safety feature built in? My GSI doesnt act the same way...

Nope, check the pivots and cable.

It all actually looks pretty decent.. I would imagine the steering cable could be replaced but if it was that bad I would suspect it would be "tight" at any speed... The bushings may be a little worn so Ill prolly replace them this winter while Im doing all the other "mods"...

It will be a little harder since at high speed you are redirecting all the jet force but on all the skis I have ridden it has never been noticeable.
