Quick question....taking apart the carb when I run across this film over the piece labeled pulse

I have never seen this before, it weirded me out...but then again, I know very little lol anybody?

So I'm cleaning the carbs on the 95 when I spot something missing....

Something look off to you fellas? Damn butterfly valve was gunked to hell

No not that Matt, look a little further up. Screw is missing that controls how open your butterfly valve stays. Idk the technical term, but it was missing off the back carb. And the valve was nowhere close to being in sync with the front carb

You only need the idle speed screw on the front carb. The sync is done with the length of the shaft between the two carbs. Mount the carbs on the ski, then close idle screw until the front butterfly just closes all the way. You will need a mirror to look in there. Then adjust the link between the two carbs until the back carb just closes. Tighten the link up, then adjust the idle screw to where you want it.

Oh! Haha I'm an idiot, I went and Jerry rigged a second idle screw. Goes to show I have a lot to learn lol you save the day again soccerdad

I am just a couple of months ahead of you. But I just went through all of these questions. Glad to help and give back.

Ran into a bit of a problem this weekend with the 95. It seems I have a leak somewhere....the first time I took her out for a long period of time, I noticed the hull had a good bit of water in it. So after I drained the hull, I filled the hull up with water from a hose to make sure there wasn't a crack or leak in the hull, and not a drop. I shrugged it off to me nearly capsizing a few times, jumping some waves, etc. etc....and some water had just gotten inside somehow.

Well I took her out again this weekend and was just cruising, nothing crazy. Turned her off for a bit, and noticed it was really hard to get her started after a while. Took a peak inside, and BAM...the water was back. Any suggestions on where to take a peak? Really hoping it's an easy fix and not something major. My 96 already has a small leak some PO had tried to patch up that I just found.

The struggle is real..

Ride with the seat off and start looking. Or keep it strapped to the trailer and run it at the ramp. Just back it in so the pump is drawing water for the cooling system.

as the others have said, run with the seat off and look good around the pump inlets and exhaust. also if you worked on the pump make sure the o-rings for the bailers are back in place between the pump body and the nozzle. other wise the bailers will work in reverse and suck water back into the hull.

Whelp hooked her up to a flush kit and found a leak in some hose. Counting my lucky stars on that one, thanks for the help guys.

Now the bad, horrible, no good, I hate myself news. Gonna wrap up what little projects I had going on the 2 xp's and post them on craigslist to test the waters. It's left a terrible taste in my mouth, but the practicality just isn't there right now with bills stacking up and a baby on the way. I'm hoping to pick up a 2-stroke seadoo jet boat on a trade (a bit more family friendly) or a giant pile of cash ( ) but who knows.

I've been debating on it for a while, and I'm still on the fence. Someone is gonna have to blow me away to get them, that's for sure.

Ugh, I think I'm gonna be sick. I feel like I'm putting my child up for adoption.

The Seadoo jet boats are a blast. I'm currently looking for one now as well. I'd like the twin engine 787s. I've heard they are bad a$$ boats

I know me too! Too bad people down here apparently think an arm and a leg are acceptable terms in return for said boat

quick question guys....trying to get my ski's ready for sale or trade, and the 95 still has a pretty bad leak somewhere. I THINK I found the culprit in the VTS bellows variable protector hose (or in other words, this thingy majiggy)

Could this leak enough to where after a few hours of being in the water, half the hull would be full of water? it's gotta mean sized hole in it

On another note, I've cleaned these carbs to death. Soaked the metal in chem dip, sprayed with carb cleaner, the works. But EVERY TIME they dry, white chalk like beads form all around the filter on the metal. What the hell?

Yes replace that torn boot, can't hurt. I like to scrub the carb parts in purple power with a plastic brush.

Whelp if all works out, looks like tomorrow I'll be a seadoo jet boat owner. Gonna miss my ski's though :/
