This is my first post here so HELLO EVERYONE!! I have a 96 GTX 717 in my shop and it was blowing the 5 amp when the stator was plugged in but not when unplugged, we ordered a new stator from our local dealer and installed it and it is still blowing the fuse. Is it possible that we got a bad Stator or is it the MPEM or both? I have seen this issue many times with the stator but ive never had one do this after replacit it.. Thanks in advance

Theres a cheap fix on the forum by just replacing the diode and if you're handy with a soldering iron. Search for mpem repair. I fixed mine for about $10 vs $200 for a replacement.

All you have to do is run the black wire going into the mag housing to ground. That takes the stator out of the equation and lets you know its the MPEM or the stator.

the 96 is a 787...with DESS. 95 had a 657.

I have the MPEMs available if you need one. Im in the cities...you'd have parts next day.
