if you have a light test, then locate the white wire at the coil, then while motor is cranking, probe the connector. If it lights up, then cut 1/4in off the wires at boots' ends, then try to fire ski up. If the wire doesnt light up, then remove the mag cover, and inspect the "pick-up" coil. A bracket holds it in place, and that, its notorious for them to break.
 
The 787's (and 951's) need a good battery. The ignition will not work if the cranking voltage drops below ~10.5 volts. It will sound fine, and turn over normally, but no spark. A friend told me this, I thought he was full of it. I spent hours tracking down the problem. A new battery, and it fired up.
