First off thanks to everyone who has already helped me without even knowing it. I have been using this site for over 3 years now to help me with my GSX. Every problem I have had with the GSX so far I have been able to fix by searching this forum. This time however no luck, so I'll see if someone can help me out.
Minus a few small problems the GSX has ran great for 3 years now. Last summer it started something funny that I cant figure out. It will start and run fine in and out of water for as long as Im on it. As soon as I shut it off it wont start anymore. It will crank over all day long. If I let it sit for 5 mins it will fire right up and run great again. Shut it off and same problem I have ot let it sit for 5 mins. I have lost my mind trying to figure it out. I believe in the 5 Mins it wont start it is becasue I have no spark.
The coil on it is less than a year old. I have had a "Low 12 volt" light for a while. Finally tested for it and found my voltage to be all over the place. Bought a new Rectifier for it and still same problem there, voltage is still all wonky, over 18volts. I believe these two problems are related but I dont know how to fix it.
Any help would be great.
It is a 96 GSX with aftermarket Ocean Pro flame arresters on it and has the oil block off kit installed so im running premix. New Battery, Rectifier, Coil a year ago, Black box for coil at same time (CDI), Plugs replaced every time I go out.
