I was putting in a new battery in my 96 GSX and did the genius thing of hooking the terminals up backwards. I realized it pretty quickly, but I'm pretty sure I still blew a fuse or something.
The new battery is fully charged. When installed in the ski (the correct way), I don't even get a single beep when putting the key in the ski. The old battery would make beeps, but not start. Now when I hook the old battery back up, I'm no longer getting any beeps on that either which is what leads me to believe I blew a fuse.
I assume the fuse I will need to replace is in the MPEM. Is that correct?
This will sound bad, but how do I actually open the MPEM? I assume I just pull down the two tabs on the top (circled in purple in the attached pic) and pull on the tab (circled in red)??? I tried that, but haven't been able to get the darn thing open. I don't want to force any more unless I know that is the correct way to open it.
Once I get the MPEM open, how will I find the correct fuse to replace within the MPEM?
Thanks guys!!!
