951 Hub & Mag removal questions

I am going through a grenaded 951 and need to remove the PTO hub. How do you remove it?



Also, in regards to the magneto, SD recommends the puller shown in the photo. I have a standard flywheel puller, but I am concerned it may harm the magneto. Should I buy the SD one or use mine? THANKS!

For the PTO hub, remove the 6 bolts, then use a puller. For the flywheel, remove the magneto, then use a puller on the flywheel. at least from what i recall. I just used the harbor freight one.

The seadoo puller for the flywheel is so easy. No way I'd ever use a standard flywheel puller I also don't mind spending the money for the right tools for the job..

Both the flywheel and hub on my 951 I used regular pullers and heat. They weren't coming off without any heat.

The PTO HUB has no threads, so when I put the puller on, it screws into the flywheel. That isnt going to remove the hub. I saw a video of a guy that used an air chisel to remove a hub, but I dont think that may be a good way to do it.

Where did you get the puller? Do you know the part number? There seems to be a number of options and I dont want to order the wrong one. Thanks!

You can Google that. There is a motion pro one to that looks the same and is a little cheaper. The one I listed is about $45.

In regards to the HUB on the PTO. I was able to remove it by hitting it with a hammer. No special SD tool needed!
