Please someone chim in. My 95 XP with a rebuild engine and carbs was running great, but now I have a problem, here it is.

At full throttle Im only getting approx. 6000RPM and with the throttle still full, the ski cuts out down to 3000RPM and them cuts back in to 6000, now this would go on for as long as I had the throttle full. Is it an engine problem, Carb problem, or Jet problem...

Thanks in advance.

It does sound fuel related, however, just because I would un-thread the spark plug boots, clip off 1/4 inch of wire and thread the boots back on. They fail often and this will eliminate the potential at least.

Do you still have Grey Tempo fuel lines? If you did change them, did you clean/replace the fuel selector?

If you don't have grey fuel lines, try unplugging the red wire to the rectifier and go for a ride.

Did you change the fuel selector? They're cheap, and that sounds a lot like what mine did when the fuel selector started sucking air. Also check the o-ring on your water separator.

Thanks for the Info guy's all good stuff, will start checking ASAP, the ski still has the Tempo Grey fuel lines, so I'll change them as look at the fuel selector when Im in there.
Question for 97GTXman1687. what am I looking for when I pull the red wire off the rectifier?? What should happen and what does the red wire do ?

Cheers

Do NOTHING else until the Grey Tempo lines are changed. Replace the filters, clean or replace the fuel selector, clean the filters inside the carbs (do not use carb clean, they are plastic and it can melt them). You will likely have tongi through the carbs as well.

It is impossible to get get base engine as long as the Grey Lines are still installed.

Anything else is a waste I time and money until this is done. They will destroy your engine and force a lean run condition.
