Looking for some info. I just bought a 1995 xp 800 limited. I’ve heard these are pretty rare. Is that true and if so How rare? And how much do they usually sell for?

They aren't that rare.... And price depends on how clean it is and original it is. Post some pictures!

Ok I heard they only made 2500 of them. That’s not the case?

I'm sure the other guys will chime in with the actual numbers, but yes they were a limited production from my understanding, mouth the pop up for sale a lot

They aren't a collector's item or anything like that if that's what you are asking. A few guys here will restore them for the "cool" factor but that is about it. They are basically the same a sa 1996 XP and they made about a million of the 96'.

THe one in the picture if it runs good I would expect it to bring $1,200 to maybe $1,500 but it does need to be cleaned up. It also isn't a "Limited" it is just a 1995 XP 800.

Ok thanks, what makes one a limited? I paid $1200 with a trailer so I didn’t get hurt.

If it runs you did good. Now you need to read a lot of pages here and start a Resto thread and bring her back to her 1995 glory.

The Limited is a label seadoo use from 1998-1999 for their 951 powered skis.

The term actually refers to the limited class of racing known a "limited" modifications allowed and not a Limited Edition like most people thing. Back in the day a limited ski was a class of racing that had rules set for the limited amount of mods that were allowed as opposed to stock class and seadoo jumped on that as a marketing term.

There was 500 of the 95xp 800’s made with the ‘x’ engine. And another 2000 made without the x engine. Definitely cool to have one though imo

The x was bored .25 over from the factory making it a true 787? They stamped an ‘x’ on the rear engine plate to distinguish it.

There's a bunch of parts that are one year only on the ski but you can convert to the 96+ xp parts without a problem. If you want to look at some of the parts you can check out my resto thread which in the first post has a link to some of the differences from the later skis. It's all what you put into it, I try and go above and beyond on mine. I'm still not done, I've just been very lazy on finishing. As far as collectibility, it's worth what someone is willing to pay. I know I wouldn't let mine go cheap.

You ski looks like a very good base to start with, I think you did fair on the deal.

Ive read a post a long time ago where bill oneill stated at one point that the only difference was the bore.

That’s my understanding too because the IJSBA rules didn’t allow porting mods but you could bore to the next oversize.

Although I have been wrong before.

If you compare a 95 case to a 96+ case the intake ports on the 95 are missing the lower eyebrow. From the factory, so it's not modded. Somewhere I posted pics.

The best x4 ever made and the ski that started the x4 genre that we all love. They are rare but the 95 xp800 with the 787X is the rarest. Post a picture of the engine and tag

And yes they are a collector item to anyone who knows seadoos. They started it all, they were a prelude the greatest ski ever made and sold. The 96 xp
