95 gtx issue

just got done cleaning and rebuilding the carbs on all 4 of my sea doo's before they are put away for the winter and I'm having issues with the last one.95 gtx, starts up fine, idles fine, revs to full throttle fine if you baby it, will not take full throttle from an idle. it bogs down and sometimes backfires through the carb. if I spray carb clean while its bogging down it will either rev up or backfire. any ideas what I should look for? thx, chris

Check the RV cover clearance, and recheck the carbs pop-off. A re-machined cover is about $100 at SBT, :cheers:

thx for the reply but I did some more checking and found the front cyl has 0 compression and the rear has 70. just took it apart and found the piston and rings are bad. the cylinder jugs look and feel fine, can I get by with a hone job?

You need to have an engine machine shop measure your bores and check them against the specs in the manual.
