No pics for me. I didn't get the ski out. Wife had minor surgery on Friday so we just did dinner on the 4th then came home. Next weekend we'll be out of town, so maybe the following weekend.

our week in parker went too fast, here's a couple piks of river fun
hi temp,119,low temp 99,(at 2a.m.)
me,brandon and Andrew went thru 185 gallons of gogo juice.perfect week.the 96xp killed a votage reg.10min fix,moved on!

wow Donkey that looks like a beautiful spot to be and ski. 185 gallons!?! Wow, now that's burnin' some two stroke! Looks like a shallow start would be awfully rough on an impeller. Way to not let a simple break down crimp a vacation either. Let's just get a yellow seat back on that 95

Finally back in town. Did 2 weeks down in Ocean City NJ. Took the boat and the skis. W It was choppy the second week and the wind changed so the ocean temp went from 70 to 59 degrees, thankfully the bay and canals were still close to 70.

Did a few after dinner runs on the skis with my BIL or son.

Boy that sure is a good looking cover on that XP ;) . Oh also, what is with those silver nozzles on them, are you hiding some goodies on there that you didnt tell us about or did you just paint them like that? I dont remember seeing those in your threads!

So did you get all of the kinks worked out of the skis then running wise?? They look sooo good in the water

Hah, cover is clean -- now, thanks again! I still won't trailer with it on, I like people to have something to drool over while driving. The silver nozzles are just stock nozzles I bead blasted and powder coated wheel silver like today's car wheels and then I clear powder coated over that to really make em' pop.

As far as the kinks, yep all sorted out on both skis, it was a total nightmare but I powered through them in the final week before leaving and only had water tested the XP before leaving. The HX was an unknown unit. I can't stress it enough that any used and new to you ski needs to be thoroughly checked out, heck, even I missed a cut driveshaft on the HX, and a bent blade on the XP impeller. Even the new to me used trailer was unknown, but with two new rims and tires and cleaned and repacked bearings I knew it would make it partially to the destination. I'm gonna need to start using the pool as my test tank, when the wife is gone for the day.

Well it finally quit raining yesterday, so we went to the lake, and got a couple of rides on the 96GTI. I launched where I think the ramp use to be, and left the ski at the lake. Anyway here's a couple of pictures of what use to be the parking lot and is now the lake. The lake is up about 16' over summer pool, and 5.5' above flood stage. I don't have a before picture.

Went to Broken Bow lake about 4 hours from us, rented a cabin with some friends, skis ran PERFECT, logged about 3 hrs on both skis over 2 days (I know not enough), was getting crazy with mine doing tricks and such that the hull filled with water, didnt get in the engine, cought it soon, went to shore and drained it all out, still scared the crap out of me, I have a bilge on order to help prevent that from happening again. Found a cove (behine the boat in the pic) that had flat glass water in it and raced my buddies 08' RXPX from a dig, I had him 2 times on the punch but he soon cought up an passed me.

Lou, lets just all be glad about the rain we are all getting this year. Remember last year, I remember ppl posting pics of dried up coves with boats sitting in the mud. They were saying it was the "Second Dust Bowl", well at least here in Missouri. This year everyone still has green grass growing in full force, no 110 degree days. I am certainly not complaining one bit about the cool rainy summer so far!

Oh btw lets all congratulate LouDoo on his 8,000th Post! Long Live Lou!

Glad to hear the skis ran great for ya! It is always fun beating those big 4 strokers off the line with our "old simple two strokes" I could care less about beating them in top speed, 55 mph on an XP is way more fun and plenty fast for me!

Glad they ran good too, I guess thats what putting a TON of time/money into them getting them up to par, kinks worked out and going over them over and over again will do. Ive worked on them damn near everyday for a month after work to get them reliable for this trip/summer.

Its all relative, you coulda dropped 12 grand for a brand new one, but I agree, when you spend $50 here, $100 there, $200 there it feels like you are spending more on it than if you woulda spent it all at one time just buying a good running ski.

The key here is that all of the maintainence you have done on the ski and getting it running right should make it reliable for a long time coming with little future costs! At least that is what I hope for with mine! Shouldn't need to do much besides cleaning raves, oil filters, and pump oil any more! And what that costs like maybe $10 bucks to do all of that!

Ahh, I like trailering with the cover on, no dust from gravel roads sticking on my ski!

So the trailer, did you ever find the super rare hard to find trailer you were looking for? I remember you mentioning the trailer you bought when you first bought your 96's brand new, but didnt know if you ever found one!!!

I go to fast for dirt to stick :D

Yes, out Chicago there was a guy who has one, $1,200. That is to me about $400 more than what it's worth because I know it is cracked and I'll need to fix it. Eventually I'll turn one up at the right price. For now I bought a double shorelandr from a buddy of mine that he bought new back in 95 and is still in really good shape, I just put new meats on it and did the bearings.

Anyone coming east?????
