4-Tec solenoid

The starter solenoid went out on my '05 Wake. Does it need the new solenoid to actually run, or will it start and run by jumping the solenoid?

Jumping it will work. Just not the "recommended" start method.

Thanks Coastiejoe. I think I narrowed it down to the mpem being bad. After searching, it seems like the 4 short beeps I get are the result of no communication from the mpem. Sound about right?
