Since I'm going to be replacing my trigger assembly soon I thought I would check the timing settings on the engine. The manual is OK explaining it but it could be better. Once I'm done I will post what I found confusing and explain it along with photos. For instance the manual mentions an idle stabilizer box and a throttle cable barrel and barrel ratainer (I did find these).
There are timing adjustments for the cranking timing, idle timing and full throttle timing. There are also adjustments for the timing mark on the flywheel, throttle cam, maximum throttle setting, idle speed setting and oil pump mixture ratio setting.
I found a decent timing light at Harbor Frieght for $25.
