So, I broke one of my cardinal rules and borrowed my friends 2014 GTI 130 with approx. 40 hours.

After a good long morning ride with no issues, I leave the marina after lunch at idle speed, also with no problems. Get outside the marina and hit the throttle. Wow, major vibration, no acceleration, but engine does rev. Seems as though there is lots of prop wash ( is this exhaust?). Idled to dock and trailered it.

Inspected prop, but did not see anything out of ordinary.

Now I have to call my former friend, the owner, and let him know what happened. Also, need to take into shop tomorrow.

Would like to give him a clue as to the problem, so any help would be appreciated. Also can't wait to see how much this 3 hour tour is gonna cost.

Crawl under the ski and check the tunnel....my bet you ingested some garbage while at slow/idle speed.

Did that and there is no sign of debris of any sort. Also started on trailer and it made bad grinding and clanking noise. Seems like a bearing problem to me but I don't really know how these things are built. Anyway it is serious for sure so to the shop it goes.

The horrible noise is normal to an extent on seadoos out of the water they sound bad. I agree with what he said, you prob sucked something and thats what the deal might be, maybe the jet pump itself is messed up? just giving you my opinion.

You had something stuck in the pump and it has either fallen out on its own or is still stuck in the pump. A very small stick(as small as a quarter) or some other debris can wedge against the impeller and the wall of the pump and will do exactly what you described. It will make a loud noise when running out of water.

Don't take it to the shop unless you want to pay $200 for them to remove a stick. Look in the pump very carefully with a flashlight from both sides.

I also think you had something in the impeller area. And you may still. Fish line will cause this issue. Look VERY well using a flashlight. If it is clear, lower it into the ramp and see how it feels.

You will be surprised what a small peice of debri can do to a ski, a small bag got stuck on the impeller and took us about 1 hr to do on top of having the ski on its side.

i had a very small stick in impeller did the same thing could not see it until i used one of those cameras with hose and it was easy to get out.
