2013 GTX iBR Neutral ... Going In Reverse?!

Bought a leftover a year ago this May and have a good number of hours on it already (close to 65). I've serviced it as per the manual and everything has been great!

During one of my last rides for 2014, I got a little close to shore and sucked up some small rocks. I turned the ski off, waited and turned it back on - all the rocks were gone. Just to make sure I didn't damage anything, I brought it in for service before putting it away for the season. Everything checked out just fine.

A few weeks ago, I took it out for the first time and noticed something odd that happens once in a while. If I place the ski in neutral, it'll hover in place for a few minutes as expected. Then, I'll notice that I am actually starting to move backwards as if I have a slight amount of reverse thrust going on. Nothing on the gauges indicate that I have reverse enabled nor are any codes present - so I don't know what the deal is. I've had the ski out of the water and checked all the linkages and cables and don't see anything out of the ordinary. However, this is my first ski, so I could be missing something I'm not familiar with.

Anyone else have this issue and get it fixed?

The bucket is adjustable. It may simply need a slight adjustment to raise the bucket a bit.

There really is no "neutral" per say, it's a happy medium between forward and reverse that's dependent on the position of the reverse bucket that drops down behind the jet pump steering nozzle.

If the boat can idle for 2 minutes and not move at least several feet, I would be shocked. The turnbuckle for the bucket cable is adjustable though, perhaps when you had it serviced they may have changed the adjustment slightly but my concern is they may have left the attachment bolt lose and that would be dangerous.

You can see the plastic reverse bucket moves up and down as you switch the lever from forward to reverse, inspect the cable attached to the bucket and make sure the bolt and associated hardware isn't lose or broken.

On the newer skis it is adjustable via the handlebars buttons. Just have to get to the correct mode and adjust it. Once you get it to the point it is basically not moving, you exit the adjustment mode and it will remember this position for your neutral.

While in netural use the throttle side up and down buttons to adjust the nutural position. Its in your owners manual.

Using the up/down buttons while in Neutral worked perfectly! Thank you! The odd part is that in the manual I have, they don't talk about adjusting the Neutral that way - they only mention adjusting the cable in the rear! Thanks again!
