Hi,
today I tried to run new (used) my GTI SE on the Trailer with the hose attached and was wondering that no water was coming out of the exhaust or pump.

Disconnected the hose and flush adapter and see that the fitting / hose inside the PWC is clogged with sand/dirt/what ever. Looks like it was not flushed for a long time
Used a small screwdriver to clean it an it was very hard sand/little stones inside.

Question,
- is it a common problem that this flush connector get clogged?
- in normal operation, is water coming out of the flush fitting at the back?
- any problems to expect when there is more dirt in the flush hose inside the ski?

Thanks,
Axel

Not common for that area to be clogged.

It is to be left open as water does come out of it when running.

You need to unplug it as this is where the exhaust drains and you flush the ski from there as well.

Thx coastiejoe, this is what I am thinking... it need to be open that water can come out :agree:

Does anyone have a diagram or an overview of the exhaust system (from the repair manual perhaps?) to see where the flush hose is connected to the exhaust system? (the part list diagram only shows the hoses itself)

Thanks

Bet a mud dobber or some such was building a nest.

Dude, that's what I was thinking when I read this post.

However, it sucks that the OP didn't catch this on the first inspection before buying it. Lessons learned and all that.

It could be the last owner dogged the crap out of it and decided to sell once the whole thing was plugged up and overheating. Hopefully, that isn't the case!!!!

Definitely not. I tend to take my skis to the lake during the summer twice a month for a few days each. I'll leave them in the water for the duration. After I bring them back I will make a point to flush them within 24 hours. Like Coastijoe said, you'll definitely want to unplug it.

Short Update:
Unpluged it with a long thin screwdriver and some water mixed with sand came out.
Run the Jet on the river today and in neutral a small amount of warm water comes out of the flush connector.
Looks good I think - thanks guys!
