New to the jetski community! Wanted one for ages now I have two. Just curious, I see 4-Tec and I am wondering if my 2008 GTX and 2008 GTI are in fact 4-Tecs? Also I am wondering if I have the jet pump oil or grease. I am getting ready to service the jet pump and it seems that some manuals say to replace the oil and some say grease. How do I know short of just pulling the cone and seeing what comes out? Am I close on that?

Both are 4tec's and it's easy to tell by popping off seats and noticing 3 spark plug leads....

Your jet pump is likely grease but I'm not 100% sure of that. Other members with a 2008'will
confirm.

Well thanks for the info! I will have to figure out how to regrease the pump then! I have the oil change procedure down, but that may not apply anymore!

I'm sure it's grease. Some still use motor oil, as they think it circulates better through the parts. My opinion is that if the manufacturer keeps recommending it, that's what you should use. This video may help a bit, but the torques might be different (https://youtu.be/axU-9Wi_Y-E). Good luck.

Like these guys said you have grease in your pump. Pop the cap off and if there are no signs of water reinstall it! My yearly service on all non supercharged ski's is new spark plugs, oil change/fliter, and jet pump inspection. That's all they need! Is your GTX and 155 or 215? 2008 is a good year for Seadoo. There isn't any issues with them that have to be addressed like the prior years.
