2008 Rxtx not reaching top speed

Hello, I recently purchased a 2008 Rxtx 255, got a really good deal on it and it’s in decent shape. Just took it out for the first time and was not impressed at all. I thought it would have been a rocket ship, it barely got up to 55 and barely over 6200rpm. Am I missing something? The guy I got it from said it would do 70 and pulled hard I’m not seeing that at all. Thanks in advance

Supercharger clutch is probably slipping out of spec
That was my thought as well, the previous owner said the sc was rebuilt less than 30 hr ago. But it doesn’t have that sc pull under acceleration at all. I’ve ridden my buddies 230 it’s stock and pulls hard. The only recent repair I’ve made was replaced the impeller and wear ring which was damaged badly.

Before you do anything, make sure you have fresh spark plugs, then test again and go deeper, if needed. Worth the $13 investment if you are not sure when they were last replaced.

Any idea what factory pitch should be for impeller? It currently has 14/22 no cavitation won’t get over 6800 rpm and 55 mph. Super frustrating for a 255. Can sc be replaced while in water?

14/19 or 13/19 and change your plugs for as mentioned

Plugs are brand new. Decided to check sc slip and found I was able to get it to spin with some effort. More concerning was the intercooler looked restricted with debris. I’m going to pull sc and replaced as the compressor wheel looks bad. I would put money this thing was not changed with in the last 30 hrs as told.
