I just put my 2006 RXT in the river for the first time this season. Motor running great, but I notice that when steering straight ahead and going at lower crusing speeds like around 25 mph, the boat leans just to the left side of center and feels like it catches back at the OPAS vane and sends the boat leaning to the right side where it catches on that side and sends it back to the left of center ... and continues to do this as long as I continue to go straight. If I speed up to high speeds, it seems to ride smoothly. The OPAS vanes feel like they are correctly linked to the steering handlebar because the swing out from side to side as I steer the handle bar back and forth. Any thoughts why the boat occilates from side to side of center while steering straight ahead at lower speeds?

check the OPAS filter that is attached to the thruster nozzle. it should be a 90degree filling with a rubber tube that runs to the underside of the hull above the nozzle. remove the tube and fitting. its probably clogged with junk. careful to not break the screen when you wash it. if its broken replace it and perhaps there could be debris in the lines.

I have the same problem with both of my 06 RXT skis, at 25mph it leans back and forth left to right. All I have to do is speed up and it goes away, is this normal? My first season with the skis so I do not know what is normal.....

Update on this issue, I cleaned the filter as discussed which was not dirty but the hose clamps seemed fairly loose which may have caused some leaks. Also the 90 degree fitting which screws into the housing did not seem real tight so when putting back together I added some teflon tape to the threads to make sure it was sealed properly. Test rode both skis and it was better still getting some back and fourth motion but less, also the longer I stayed out the less I noticed it so I think there may be some air in the opas system that eventually gets pushed out. Hope this helps.
