Hey guys,

New to this forum and to very new to jet skiing in general.

I bought my first ski (second hand) approx 4 weeks ago, and it's been running like a dream. I took it out today when after approx 15-20 minutes of riding I noticed I would suddenly lose all power, and then it would just kick in again.

After is happened I decided to turn back home, on the way it happened again, a few times and at different RPM's. The dash gave me no warnings or alerts of any kind.

As I got closer it just cut out all together. When I tried to start it, it would beep 3 times and give me a "Hi-Temp" warning and I have since been unable to start it.

Even now a few hours later - where temperature could no longer be an issue, I am still unable to start it and still am receiving the warning and beeps. The engine doesn't even turn over, if I press start it kind of thuds and that is it.

Does anyone have any idea what I could have done? Best-worst case scenarios or tests I can do at home to try and figure it out? The ski has done approx 100 hours and there was plenty of oil/fuel in the ski AND the intake didn't appear clogged or anything when I took it out of the water.

Thanks in advance guys

Wellllllll......

The worst case is you burnt up your engine.

If you were overheating, you should have gotten beeps and a warning while you were running.

I know hindsight is 20/20... but did you check the pee-hole when it first cut out to see if water was flowing? Just because the intake looks clear... it doesn't mean that the actual cooling lines are.

Is your LE injected, or does it have carbs? If it has injection... you may need to have the error cleared by a dealer.

Last thing... pop the PTO cover off, and see if you can turn the engine over by hand. That will at least tell you if you seized the engine.
