I have an 2003 seadoo xpdi and would like to modify the ski to gain some power, acceleration, and top speed. It is currently stock. I have looked and found very little information about performance for these machines but I know it's out there somewhere. Anyone that can help would be much appreciated!

Old saying here.-----> " You want a faster ski? Buy a faster ski"
The engine and drive train are designed to get top performance out of that machine. You can add a little more hole shot out of it with new impeller. Smaller, lighter, bigger engine ski's are what you want. But, they have their issues too.

I would never bother trying to improve on a DI. the air & fuel mixture is mapped out for stock configuration & I don't believe there is any way to alter that. It's probably the worst engine to try & tweak the performance IMO. Bumping the compression maybe..... but if you get into different flowing exhaust or more displacement i think your going to have problems.

The DI's are pretty good performers in stock form, but I agree if you want something quicker I would look for a faster ski. money much better spent. the 4tec SC skis are quick, but are a little heavier.

Leave it alone... you are opening a can of worms that's much more hassle than it's worth...

Other than a Concord 15/20, there is nothing I'd do.

From what I have read, the Coast Guard has agreements from all manufacturers of Jet Ski's. That they will only go 50 / 55 MPH stock. How fast they get to that speed is a different story. You tweak one setting or flow or size you have to change another. Then you have to be a tuner, know when it's not preforming right, slave to the lap top. Under stand what to do to get it where it needs to be. I would rather have it dependable, start every time and not burn through great amounts of gas to do 70 MPH. It's not a car, it's a little boat. A whole different machine.

The official Max CG speed is written 68 to 72 depending on what manual you find. Anything above that, you have to modify after the manufacturer released the ski.

Thats what I have heard as well. One of the reasons GPS speed limiters came into play after some of the 2008 skis were knocking on the door of 70mph bone stock.

speaking of which. a friend of mine rode one of the new 300's he said it got close to 70 as quick as my RXPX gets to 60. going by seat of the pants feel that is. I really need to ride one of those to see..... :)

If you have to modify a DI give Group K a call. I know they did some modding and testing on the DI back in the day.
