2002 Seadoo Bombardier limited bogging in water

Hello everyone ,

New to the page and also new SeaDoo owner. I purchased a 2002 Bombardier recently and took it out today for the first time on the water. Just to tell you before I bought it sat in a garage on trailer for at least 1 year. I put new plugs and a new battery and fired right up at home. Took it today to the water and ran fine for about 4 min then started to bog down. Did not shut off though. What could it be ? Also when I put in key and hit set 5 times I am getting code P-1517, can you guys tell me what that is ? TIA

P-1517 is: Compass out of range. There is a sticky on this forum that lists all the fault codes.

For your situation, you need to check the basics ... Inspect the pump and wear ring, check the fuel pressure. Did it sit with a full tank of gas or a partial tank of gas? What type of gas? Regular pump gas or ethanol free? Was fuel stabilizer added to the tank?
