I just recieved two 2002 seadoo gtx di from a friend that told me they would not stay running. After doing some testing and checking i have found that compression is down on 1 cylinder on each ski. My question is what may cause this in these engines i'm putting top end rebuild on them and need to know if there was something i needed to look for that might have caused this problem? Thanks for imput on this matter.

Ummmmm... wow.

OK... I'm really not trying to sound harsh... but this is a forum, and all we have is our words. Your post is IMPOSIBLE to follow. I would like to help, but you need to use proper grammar, and punctuation.

But from what I can get out of this is... both engines are roasted, and need replaced. (Sorry)

Both engines need rebuilt 100% either your self or a shop that will give you a warranty. Doing a top end on a 12 year engine is a waste of time, money, and effort.

DI Skis are are also notoriously tricky with electronics and fuel pumps... you may want to just skip this 'gift'.

Forgot to mention engines are from sbt and are bout 3 years old not the one bought in the skis.
all other parts in engine seam good. Still need complete rebuild?
