ok i bought this sea doo from my neighbor he said he tried jump starting it with a battery charger then it had no spark. ski has been sitting for +- 5 years, i replaced the battery old one was shot, could not get power to gauges no beeps, but i had power at the 15 amp on the mpem and in the rear electrical box. there was a 5 amp fuse missing so i put one in on the mpem and it popped immediatly. i found another thread on here that said to try to unplug the stator and put in a new fuse i did that and it did not pop but when i plugged the stator back in it popped again. i proceeded to pull off the flywheel and the stator, this time the stator was not touching anything that went to ground i put a new fuse in and it did not pop as soon as i touched the stator plate to the engine block the fuse popped again. does this mean the the generating coil or trigger coil is bad? any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Hi and welcome to the SeaDoo forum.

It's most likely the MPEM, send it to Nick Minnetonka4me and have him test it, if it's bad it can most likely sell you a good used one at a fair price.

I get where your thought process is going and it makes sense. As Lou mentioned Minnetonka4me can help if you do need an MPEM. I would let someone else with 2-stroke knowledge jump in as well as MPEMs are not a cheap item.

Lou knows 2-strokes very well, he could absolutely be right. Just hate to se you wait for am MPEM if there is a different answer.

This could be that protection diode again!
Basically it shorts out and thisi the result.
There was a good thread with pics a month back. Try searching for mpem diode.
If you want to try it , you have to digg the potting out in one spot and replace the diode.
But it couls be something else .

My bet is the diode so far with the fuse poping right away.
