2002 GTX 4 tec "wire to nowhere"

Curious: On my 2002 GTX 4 tec, there is a wire that attaches to the side of the circuit board on the port side of the craft. It is attached to the frame that holds the circuit board with a pop rivet and spins freely. It appears that this wire attaches to nothing.

Anyone know what it is and what it does?

i believe what your looking at is a diagnostic port for connecting BUDS or a candoo

I think that this what you're looking at. Can you post a picture so we can confirm?

Are you talking about the 6-pin grey connector? Yep. That's the diagnostic connector. It attaches to a special cap. You'll get a "maint" indication in the information center if it's not connected to the cap.
