Hi all doo'er!

Putting key in makes normal double beep and then 1 long beep. Display had some moisture in it on the inside of the clear plastic outer covers you look through but was working last week. Now its totally off.

Fuse checked and connection at service door at front of storage area checked/replugged

Can this be taken apart and dried?
Connections inside the storage lid?
How do you get this lid apart to get to the display?
Other connections that can cause possible outage?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Do the info centers just pull out?????
Answer: Yes

Using a medium or small flat blade screwdriver, you can get under the edge. The place you want to be on the edge is between the rubber grommet/gasket (that stays with the boat when you pull the info center out) and the HARD edge of the info center. NOT THE OUTER BLACK BEZEL OR YOU'LL DENT IT UP EASILY.

The hard edge is just inside the outer plastic bezel that you see when looking at the info center. Twist the screwdriver gentley and change sides a few times and out it comes.

Once out, power and ground check the purple and black wires in pins 7 and 8 of the connector on the info center.

After uplugging mine I removed the 2 screws from the hard mounted connector on the unit, turned it upside down and shook it and 1/4 cup of water exits it. Disassembled and found the green wire on the main connector board broken off and severe corrosion on the same connector. Re soldered wire and back in business. Just waiting for the sealant to set up now.

Whew... dodged the 600-700 dollar bullet this time. I'll probably seasonally REMOVE this thing and bring it inside until next season!

display unit - disassemble - I took out the display but cannot seem to disassemble it

I could not disassemble the unit, I took off the srews but could not get any further. How did you get the unit disassembled? I need to do that and see if I can fix it, certainly don't want to spend that kind of money. Thanks for these instructions below, they helped a lot.

Just replaced my 2002 4 tec display for 500 bucks.
I had black sh*t growing on the bottom of the
Display. I took it out and unscrewed it to find
Green corrosion and broken wires that was beyond
Repair. Sorry to inform you.

Just curious, when you order these on line some of the shops say "Your MPEM may need to be flashed for this unit to work when installed depending on which model PWC ". Has anyone had to take it to the dealer to have this done or is it just if you add new features? I haven't taken the plastic cover off mine yet but anticipate....the worst.
