Hi -- my first post here so thank you all in advance for any responses!
Heres the story: pulled motor and gave to a sea doo mechanic for rebuild -- had him break-down motor and install a hot rods crank and wsm pistons/rings.
I had the cylinders honed .001 and had a new head for her.
So, I reinstall the motor and the thing turns over and over then backfires, but won't start. I call the engine builder and tell him what it was/wasn't doing and he said to switch the plug wires. I did switch them and the thing fired right-up and seemed to run fine until I put her in the water -- she will not go above 35-4500 rpm and feels sluggish? The big thing is is that one of the plug wires was a lot shorter than the other and therefore my be pulling out of the boot -- could this have caused it to run bad or did my engine guy set something wrong during the reassembly that would cause me to have to switch the plug wires around to make her run??
Thanks in advance for any thoughts/responses/help with this!
I have, tonight, removed the wires from the plugs and cdi boxes and switched them so the plug wire isn't tight anymore. Yes, I did trim the ends and made sure they were screwed into the boots and the cdi boxes -- I also used some dielectric grease for corrosion resistance. I have not riden her yet thought, but have started here and she seemed better, but it is hard to tell out of the water.
Thanks,
Paintguy
