Hey guys
First off a little history on the ski.PO had it for 2 years used it twice.it had fuel in the tank when i got it.PO told me the oil pump was bad.

once i became the owner i changed the plugs since the oil bad was bad.i was told by other friends i have to just premix the oil with the fuel.i inspected the oil pump area and i noticed the cable is not in place on the oil pump, bracket is broken.im not going to lie i did add 13oz of oil to much the first time i ever went out.after that mistake i have added fuel twice without adding oil.

I took the ski out last Sunday it made it to the sand bar which was a 45 min drive.i turned it off at the sand bar hung out.when time to head back to the marina i would accelerate and it just bogged out no go at full or half throttle.took it out of the water does the same on the trailer.

so far I have
strong spark in both cylinders
150 psi compression both cylinders
ski starts up everytime
with the ski running I unplug one injector at a time and I notice the change on idle.

I have been thinking that it might be the oil to fuel ratio.

or i'm think i should of drained the gas tank and start fresh.

from my reading last night on this forum i want to check with a volt meter my battery power at full throttle.
check my stator plug.
check my reed valves.
check my fuel pressure.

i also learned its not good to pre mix on a DI.

any help from you guys is great.let me know whatever i done wrong.it's my first PWC.i'm here to learn.

Didn't I read this post one already and didn't Loudoo post a reply? If not, you have a twin.

Well, because it's DI, you need a new oil pump. Minnetonka can get you a good used one. Change the oil filter while you are at it. I would think draining the fuel tank is in order. Is there a fuel filter in a DI? It might be restricting fuel flow.

How is your battery? Check the voltages at rest, and while running, and report back...

DI ski's need the same things other ski's need PLUS one crucial addition. Fantastic fuel pressure.

I would do a fuel pressure test as it will affect how it runs. Further, I would do it when you have run it for a while. Why? Because the fuel that is not being used is passing by your engine and getting hot. As it continues this cycle the fuel in the tank gets hot. It heats the fuel pump up and the pump expands. When this happens, they often partially internally short. As a result, the pump works but at a decreased performance.

I "think" it is like 117 psi or so at higher RPMs.

I have done fuel pressure tests on cars before some require a special fitting.is it the same way for the motor I have in my ski?I assume I do it closest to the fuel rail.

Can't answer the specific question off hand. I will do some searching here tomorrow and see if I can better help you.

as you know, you can't premix on a DI. it will clog the fuel injectors and it will do exactly what yours is doing and will ruin the engine pretty quickly due to lean condition and lack of oil. get the premix out of the tank, put a oil pump on it, and run it. It should clear itself but will take a little bit of time or you can get your injectors cleaned. Don't use SeaFoam or any other crap like that. It will do more harm than good.

fuel pressure while running is 107psi, when key attached 26psi. there is a nice place under the hood to T in to test fuel pressure, not at the fuel rail. Make sure you have a good gauge that goes past 100psi, like a Mac master set is what I use.

thanks Mike
for the pump it's the cable the end that goes to the pump.
change the oil filter I haven't seen one on my motor.
I will drain the fuel tank to get the oil I premixed out have read over and over it's not good for a DI.

yes sir will not premix any more.i have read other threads where you have stated that.will drain fuel tank asap.
I don't think the oil pump is bad.i followed the cable and the tip is broken.

The oil filter is located on the hose that leaves the bottom of the oil tank, and leads to the oil pump. You can probably get a good used cable to fix the oil pump from Minnetonka.

You can send a PM (private message) to him via this site. I've used him on two occasions and found him fast and reasonable.
