Does anyone have any information or insights as to how they will be enforcing new legislation on 2-stroke PWC's? How will they confirm DI vs carb?

I read through some info about Lake Mead in specific and they claim you will not be fined, but will be required to remove the vessel from the water.

Can't we all just put Direct Injection logos on the ski?

I'm hoping for a loop hole :D

What a waste of time, no company even makes 2 strokes anymore. They will fade on their own, we don't need to push it.

Yes, the Fed's, not just California, have put a ban on all carb 2 strokes on lake Mead and Lake Mohave, as Lake Mohave is part of the Lake Mead rec area. Lake Mead and Lake Mohave are patrolled by Nevada and some areas by Arizona, Not sure how they will control this, if you get it to the water, other then they will have a list of banned craft and if they see you on one, they will pull you over, and add your haul number to a list of craft that have been asked to be removed from the lake, if they find out back out there they have other recourses to use. you could try and add DI stickers, but I am sure the water cops know a 97 GSX is not a DI craft, as much as I want to keep my area of the river to my self, head to the river, no ban there, or at Lake Havasu.

They put that law into effect on Mead along time ago. I'm surprised you guys didn't fight it a little harder before the "Effective" date.

When I lived in SoCal, and they were banning 2-stroke dirt bikes (they wouldn't give us a green sticker) we fought, and basically got the law pushed. Then, when they tried to enforce it again... we fought it saying that they are now "Grandfathered" into law, since they were sold legally in CA.

This isn't a blanket ban... but they have been trying to get rid of PWC from Mead for a LONG time.

Since you are in OC... what's the big deal. Go to havasu. Parker AZ is a better party town anyway. If you want to play... go to Puddle-stone, or Paris. (Or, the Ocean)

The carb two stroke PWC's are going to be banned on Lake Powell also. That's why I bought a couple DI's, cause we're headed to Lake Powell next year. I just hope I can keep them running!!!
