My 2001 GS had lost all power and was not doing anything. I have checked all fuses put in a new battery new plugs and found water in the rear electric box. After I dried the water out I was able to get two short beeps when I put the lanyard on. And then one beep after pressing the start button. When I press the start button five times after removing the lanyard I got two short beeps. I’m guessing my only option now is to go to the dealer since the lanyard may be defective. Any ideas? Thanks

Two short beeps when attaching the lanyard is the computer saying it recognises the lanyard and is ready to start. THe one beep when pressing start is it saying it has lost connection with the lanyard. This is typically caused by a low battery so check your voltage because even new batteries can be bad. If the voltage always stays above 12.5 volts I would next suspect either the lanyard or the DESS post itself.
