Can I remove the carbs from a 1999 GTX LTD w/the 951 without removing the pipe that's 100% in the way from above?

and if so, how?

thanks!!!

I replaced 90% of my fuel lines w/new, including the vent tubes. the only ones left are on the carbs, so I want to remove the carbs / clean the filters on them while I'm at it... thanks!

yes. I have a 1999 GSX limited. First unsnap the clip that holds the air box. If its like the GSX you can get the box out by pushing it to the wall of the craft and remove it toward the rear of the craft with a clockwise motion. It comes out once you get the right combination. Then I think its a 6mm allen or an allen socket with a combination of no or short extensions and the two mounting bolts on each carb easily come out. You can see the upper mounting bolts the lower ones are exactly 180 degrees away from them. The top is lets say 11 oclock and the other at 5. You will get a feel for it with a little time.

if you get your hands on a 'ball allen socket' it makes it easier - with a really short shaft
google ball allen socket...

welp

I am replacing the check valve + airlines going to the RAVE solenoid hopefully Wednesday now, stupid dealer told me Tuesday they'd have the parts.

If replacing these doesn't fix my stuck at no more than 6,200 RPM issue (should hit 7k) I will pull the carbs, change the fuel lines / filters now.

If it does fix my issue, I will pull the carbs at the end of the season. I just want back on the water so bad... I had 2 working ski's a month ago... right now between an engine not broken in, and this I have 0 working skis... FML.

tell me - i get to put a new impeller in this weekend after 'long story'.
i think i can finally take off everything blindfolded by now to do it...

best wishes with your rpm issue
