1999 GTX Limited Carbs and Fuel lines HELP!

I have a 1999 Seadoo GTX limited. I have read many threads about the problem with these grey fuel lines. I have decided I am going to replace all of the fuel lines, replace the fuel strainer, the carb filter and do a rebuild or cleaning of the Carbs themselves.

My question is: What do I have to remove in order to get to the carbs. I was looking and I think they are under a big muffler/exhaust pipe. Do I need to remove this and if so is there any precautions I should take.

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You do not need to remove the exhaust pipe. You should get a manual. You will need it.

Where in Texas you located. I'm in the DFW area near JerryLand.

Ummmm. Going to Lake LBJ Thursday, and Kansas the week after that. I wish I could, but it would be the second week in August before I had any free time.

Meh, it was worth a try. Really the only thing I'm to worried about is the carb rebuild, but I have a few av mechanics that will help me.

If I'm still workin on it in august your expertise would be awesome.

Any pointers, have you already done this to your GTX?

Sent you a PM. The fuel lines. One at a time, and route them exactly like they were. Through all the zip ties etc.

yea

just like pulling electric wires... one at a time.

If you disconnect the fuel line at one end, u can wrap it w/electrical tape 2-3" in,then continue the wrap around the new line. basically making a super long one.

then you just slowly pull the line, if it gets caught, free it, don't rip it!

then, the new line will follow where the old one was exactly with WAY less work.

I did all my lines in about 2 hrs (minus the carbs)...

I still have to do the 1/4" carb ones. but all the rest are done.
