yes i did that and filled the hull up to just above the drive shaft with water and after 3 hour it is now dripping water at the very back of the ride plate it is coming from the bottom of the jet pump

What I would do. While on the trailer(at home) slowly fill the inside of the ski with water, don't go too high , don't let the electronics get submerged or the carbs! It will show you where the leak is coming from, most of the time. Much easier to see all the underbody and pump area too. Just my 2 cents.

The carbon seal is located aft of the engine attached to rubber bellows if you google it you can see some images. If it’s dripping out from the ride plate that’s a lot farther aft than the carbon seal. If it’s leaking from the carbon seal I believe it would be coming out of the intake grate area. Might be leaking where the pump interfaces with the hull.

I have a 98 GTX limited and it doesn't come with a carbon seal, it has a carrier bearing, some concept just different method. You will know it is a carrier bearing if you see grease fittings when you take the cover off at the rear of the motor. There is a small chance you have a carbon seal if someone replaced the original carrier bearing with one, it does happen. Here is a pic of the bearing.

In the picture you can see the zerk fitting pointing straight up and you, that is the carrier bearing, Goldish round piece by the clamp
