Total newbie, but have read a few threads on this forum, and although they might be helpful, I still need a little help.
I cannot start the GSX, so far I have done the following:
1) replaced battery
Hear clicking at solenoid, but absolutely nothing from starter
2) Jump solenoid, but still nothing from starter
3) checked that I get 12V to Starter positive terminal and even tried bypassing solenoid, but starter still does not even make a sound.
4) checked and cleaned ground connection on block, all seemed good prior to this, but did it anyways
5) removed sparkplugs and tried turning over the shaft by hand, but it will not move, not even a little
Now, when you cannot turn over the engine, I now it can be a bad thing, however I'm betting that it's the starter that's stuck and won't allow the flywheel to turn. I think it's weird that the starter otherwise would not even make a sound. I read a long thread on there, where a guy had the same problem but basically pulled apart his jetski before finally doing the starter (Which was the culprit).
Ok, my real question is how to remove the starter? There's no damn room... If I'm lucky enough to get the screws off, how many points hold this starter? Attached pics show that I have removed 1 nut on the front of the starter.
I took a picture of what looks like a bracket holding the starter. Is "all" I have to take apart the hex bolt to the bracket at the back or are there more things holding the starter on?
