I recently picked up a 1998 Seadoo Speedster that had fallen off a trailer leaving the lake, the hull is destroyed...which is cool with me because I am planning to use one engine and pump in a 16' aluminum bowfishing boat. Not to mention I got the whole thing for well under $1k. I know its probably against what most on this forum stand for but its what I bought it for and for now keeps 2 little 787's from going to the scrap yard. One engine has 155 psi on both cylinders, the other has 160 on 1 and 0 on the other...I will be looking into this as soon as I pull them from the boat.
My question lies in the harness, MPEM, and all associated hardware in the boat is designed to run 2 engines not just one. Would I be better off trying to trade someone out of a full harness for an XP, GSX, SPX, or whatever else the 787 may have come in? I would really rather do away with the DESS because in my application it is going to sever absolutely no benefit but from my reading this is impossible.
I have the key but the beeper is dead so until I can pick one up all I have is a volt meter to read voltage for the beeps, as of right now I am showing one beep when the key is attached and one beep when the start button is pushed. Not real sure but I think its telling me its the wrong key, which could be the case but its the only Bombardier product the guy owned so I am inclined to say I got the right key.
Please feel free to tell me I am stupid or help me get one or both of these things up and running so I can tig up some cool shit to make a Bombardier powered shallow water boat.
