Hi,

I'm looking for some advice about a throttle problem on my 1998 Seadoo Challenger....... I changed the steering cable myself and since then I'm having throttle problems.
Both engines idle at about 3500rpm out of the water, then if i put the boat in Fwd, revs increase to approx 6000 even with no throttle..........

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

These boats have a rev limiter in neutral 3500. My 97 has a steering aid that bumps the throttle up at full steering lock. I would check that cable being that it ties in with the steering stuff you worked on. Pull the air filter on one engine-look at the throttle mechanism to see if it is on the idle stop. Work the throttle(with the engine off) to see how it works and how it returns. good luck.

Thanks a lot, I'll check throttle mechanism as you suggest, is the cabling easy to adjust if there is a problem there?

Thanks again for the reply.
