I just got a 98 twin motor speedster, the engines have been fully rebuilt it has brand new batteries. I was out on Friday went over some boat chop and the boat died and wouldn't restart it was completely dead we managed to get the boat back to the marina put it on the trailer and brought it home and it fired and started repeatedly any ideas seems like it could be lose ground or electrical all my battery connections where tight and it has brand new batteries.

Did you reattach lanyard after they shutoff? Def. sounds like an electrical connection problem.

yeah i took it off and reattached it a bunch of times it just beeped at me i hit the start button and i got nothing

K well MPEM had power. You did get two beeps right. Not a long one? Sorry to be dwelling on this but I need the specifics in order to help you out. 2 Beeps, MPEM is ready and you should be able to start. If you get two beeps and get nothing when you press starter then look at solenoid or cables from battery to starter. If you got one long beep it could be simple as Boat not in N.

Okay then you were likely trying to start your boat with your shift lever not in Nuetral or N.

Alright, next time your in your boat and see this problem try slowly pushing lever towards F and/or R to see if you get the two beeps. You may want to take your lever out and inspect the electrical wire. I had this problem a year or so ago, where the little wire was crushed and caused this problem quick solder job and I was good to go..

Yeah I am with him. Always try the basics. I have hit waves before and knocked the lanyard slightly off the post. You have to always go back through the basic starting procedure. Pull the throttle levers back to idle, take the lanyard off and reattach. Put the boat back in neutral and then restart. Its probably just one of those things out of sequence. If it starts fine now, that would be my guess.

Just to be sure though, make sure all battery connections are clean and tight.
