1997 sea doo gsx buying info???

I am looking at a 1997 Sea Doo GSX, but I do not know a whole lot about this model. So if you have any information that might be of help please let me know. That is what should I know about this bike? What are the positives about this model? What are the negatives if any? What should I pay attention too when looking at it? How much can I expect to spend?

The 97 is a great model...the only thing you can say about the GSX is they messed with it every year...the eboxes are different, colors, LCDs, etc.

Its a great all around machine.

That first one Seadooya posted looks good. Just read up here. make sure to water test it and do a compression test.

The 97 GSX has the 787 engine in it which is one of the most reliable engines made by SeaDoo. It's also pretty easy to work on. If you like speed...you're in for a good ride! Check it out real good and you should be happy!!

I've had one for several years. It is my 15 year old daughter's favorite. I keep offering her different skis, and she turns them down. She has her eye on an RXP I am building this winter, we will see. (She turned down the 2001 XPL I built for her last winter...)

It is a great all around ski. Not the fastest out there, but much more stable than an XP, and much more nimble than a GTX.

As said above, great ski. The 96&97 have the 787. The 97 has a more comprehensive info center, and a speedometer.
