Hey guys thought i had this figured out but now i am seeing that i too have a ground plate on my rear e-box and nothing is hooked to it. Is there supposed to be something on it for the 97 model? I thought that only the 96s had a ground plate hookup i guess i never looked that hard. I just got this doo not running it has no spark but i thought that it was maybe from the coil being cracked... Any help please im gonna work on it here tonight

All seadoo's have a grounding point for the sparkplug wires. You put the wires there when you are working on the engine.

ok so there is nothing supposed to be hooked to it all the time then. I got to thinking that maybe that maybe that might be my problem of no spark past the coil but i guess not. I got kinda nervouse there for a min. Thanks alot ps so the plate is just so you can still have power with the wires off without unhooking the battery?

Nothing all the time. The plug wires go there when you do something like a compression check so there is no chance of a stray spark igniting some fumes.

wheeeww i thought i was missing some parts i just got this thing for 300 bucks it has 56 hours on it and the marina where i got it could not figure out why it would not start. So i grabbed it and low and behold it needs an ignition coil i have spark to it but not after it. something so simple that a seadoo mechanic cant figure out. CHEAP BUY. part is 97 bucks and the ski is in mint condition as you can guess with only 56 hours on it.but thanks a bunch
