1996 Seadoo SPX ground wire help

I have figured out that many issues I have been having to restore this ski is because of a missing or broken ground wire. When I got it, I was told the starter was bad. It appears that someone had already removed the ground wire, and then decided that replacing the starter was too hard. I have a used ground wire and starter to replace. I was also getting some strange electrical readings. I beleive that there is a seperate ground for the electrical box. What I cannot locate is where the other end of the ground hooks up to. Inside the electrical box there is a post with multiple grounds going to. I am not sure how this post grounds back to the engine or battery. I am thinking that I will just add a wire and ground it back to the starter or battery post. Does anyone know where this second ground would go? Motor block or battery?
