1996 spx beep codes

Hi, Trying to get my ski ready for summer. I have a 1996 spx. It has the 717 engine. When I put the "key" on the post I get 2 beeps, a slight pause and then another beep. What is the ski trying to tell me ? I tried to start it, but it wouldn't run. I put new plugs in and still no. I will chase down the spark and/or fuel tomorrow. But the beeps concern me. any help appreciated. thanks

yes, and it sounds like its getting spark. i will verify tomorrow..
