Yes.....

Yes, it's a synthetic polyolester type oil. You can use any good GL5 75-85 (90) oil. I use the Mobil brand. It holds about 2.7 ounces, so it'll last ya a little while if you buy it by the pint.

Oil pump winterizing

After reading this thread, I was unaware of this winterizing procedure. Is this a must, and if it is, how do you do it???

Think they were referring to "replacing" the oil in the pump, so when next summer comes around, 1 item is scratched from the list.

remove the nozzle/venturi assy, by removing the steering cable, reverse cable if you got one, VTS cable if you got one, then the 4-13mm bolts. Remove those, pop off the assy, and you'll expose the cone. Remove the 3-bolts securing cone, pop it off, tip trailer up as high as you can, to drain the old out, then dip trailer as far down, to refill, using the "set plug" in the cone, after you've re-installed it. MAKE SURE you dont lose the 2-little orings at the venturi to pump, where water ports are...

ok, I was confused. I thought they were referring to the oil pump assy off of the motor....!!! Sorry for the confusion!

They are talking of the propulsion pump, at least fill it up with whatever the prvious owner gave you, you have reverse, manual trim and steering to remove before you can withdraw the pump - while you are getting this stuff loose the lube goes into the pointy thing in the middle of the rear, there is a fill plug with a 4 or 5 mm set screw to open, if it looks milky color with a flashlight it has water mixed with it and the whole cone needs to come off then reseat the o-ring and assemble, refill and enjoy.
