Having recently bought this boat I've realised it used to have a lifting cylinder on one side of the engine bay compartment to keep it up when open.
It seems to be obsolete and I can't find a part number for it. Would anyone be able to supply me with the dimensions ie. length when compressed, and length of rod when extended.
Hopefully with these I may be able to find a car with a similar part.
Thanks

Yep... what he said.

That part isn't made by seadoo. There is probably a non-seadoo part number on it. Use that and get it at you local auto parts store, or McMaster Carr will have it.

Unfortunately there isn't one fitted. Was hoping someone that had one might measure it for me, then I can go to a breakers yard and find one.
Cheers

So I popped to my local auto supplier with a guestimate of lengths-280mm retracted and 480mm extended, and they can get one made up for US$40, which I thought was reasonable. However, they wanted to know what pressure the strut should be, measured in Newton Metres. They had one there rated at 130Nm which, I think, is far too strong. I'd guess it would be more like 40Nm.
Would anyone have any better guess before I just go for it?

those lids are heavy, and you should have 2-struts, correct? You can measure the distance by lifting the hatch up, to where you want it, then measure it, and get the strut length that way. Weight/pressure wise, well almost your choice, you dont want anything slamming down, nor do you want anything you cant close.

Struts.

My boat has two struts. The sticker on the strut has 4346.
Maybe your auto parts store could cross reference the number.
Good Luck!

Ok, so it turns out it's a 1995 Speedster, the purple colured one, with only one strut. I'll go with my guestimate and hope it works..
