im trying to hook up my new radio shack beeper/chirper.... ive read the few threads on this but im still a little confused. My boat is a 96 sportster.... im confused on the const/pulse for the negative. one post said hook the negative up to both one post said one or the other. i plan on changing this later on in the day if anyone has the answer id appriciate it thanks, Bobby

Nope... don't hook it to both. I'm not sure why that person did that... but it could cause issues.

On a boat, or ski with an MPEM... hook your negative wire to the CONST line. You want to hook it there because the MPEM will send it "beeps".

On an old ski (pre-MPEM) I hook it to the PULSE connector because it's only going to make noise when the engine overheats, and it will give you a beeping warning instead of a constant alarm.

Well I got it but found it is larger diameter than original and won't fit into clip. It does work but I'm not happy with the fit. There was another model for 9.99 which I'm gonna look at.

Actually the directions on the package say to connect to both Ground and Negative but the buzzer itself implies one or the other. You are right about using the Constant connection if you have an MPEM which send beeps. Mine doesn't.

The package has nothing to do with a seadoo. Throw it away, and listen to how we are telling you hook it up. I've hooked up at least a dozen of them, with no issues.

Also... there is nothing wrong with the fit. If you are putting it in a ski... just trim the plastic. (or foam depending on the year)

If you don't like the fit that much... then pay the $50 for a factory buzzer.

I'm not being harsh... I'm just being truthful.
