Hi all, my name is Jon, I guess I should have started in this thread...I have spent hours perusing other threads that are very similar to my issue however not identicle (that I could find). I purchased my single owner 1995 speedster twin 85 rotax 3 years ago and have been enjoying it.

I have this year however encountered a major issue...the motors "slip" when I have over about 400 pounds onboard. With just me (220lbs) the boat takes off almost instantly and flies on the water at 54mph HOWEVER as soon as I get another 200 lb adult or 2 0r 3 kids and I try to accelerate, the rpms increase and the engine roars but there is very little "grab" or pick up, the boat has a hard time getting moving and is struggling to plane out. The boat is absolutely miticulous and is has been seadoo dealer maintained and they feel the engines run strong when in their shop.

Also, last year I was on "weedy" water and got some weeds stuck in the intakes but didnt realize it and unfortunetly drove back to dock not knowing what the problem was with the rpms at 6000rpm and the boat only doing 10 mph - could this have done major damage driving with crud in the intakes for 10 minutes? ( I know realize I should just turn the motors on and off a couple times to shake out any weeds)

Mostly I am seeing you all talk about the impeller or wear rings, may these apply to my above mentioned problem that only seems to be occuring with multiple passengers?

Thanks for taking the time to read my question and I will greatly appreciate all input!!

I took a look at the stator vanes and the impeller and it looks in good shape from what I can see....

I have the same boat, purchased a couple of months ago. I had the same thing happen the first time I took off with a full tank of gas, two adults, and two small kids. Wear rings and impellers checked out OK. Oddly enough, the problem somehow resolved itself. Now I'm on to bigger and badder problems. Good luck!

Hey Jon...If you have ruled out impeller and wear ring's then the next step is;
I have a 98 Speedster that suffered notoriously from cavitation.... What it finally was... is the "o" rings on the drive shaft. If you look inside your eng compartment, there is a plastic cover over your drive shaft... Take it off.. now you will see a accordion type rubber boot with a clamp on the hull and one on a carbon wear ring( black about 1/4 " thick). The rubber boot pushes the carbon wear ring against a silver ring.. The silver ring turns with the drive shaft...the carbon ring is stationary with the boat. The pressure between the carbon ring and the silver ring makes a airtight seal. If it isn't airtight, you will get cavitation. The silver ring is mounted on the drive-shaft by two small "O" rings and a "C" clip. My "O" rings were wore and they caused a air leak...... If you go to the trouble of replacing the "O" rings also replace the accordion boot and the carbon ring.
I see you are in Kitchener... check out TOKO in Waterloo... Use to be a Seadoo dealer (not any more) honest guy to talk too . One man show.. doesn't answer phone because he is usually in the shop.
Hope this helps...
