After i build carbs i checked pop off and lever height on the needle an seat then put diaphragm and cover on and installed to ski it ran great on trailer shut it off and tried to restart it it would not restart pulled plugs and they were flooded.

So i cleared fuel flooded engines by starting with throttle wide open so i shut it back off and watched fuel pour down the ventures in the carbs for like 20 seconds lots of fuel.

i removed the carbs again and checked Assembled pop-off and it was really low so i had to adjust the needle levers slightly lower then pop-off was good except the carb that has the fuel pump on it would not hold pressure for longer than 10 seconds so i sprays all around carb with pb blaster and kept putting air in till i found the new gasket i installed on the carb under fuel pump between fuel filter and top plate was leaking air so i took it back apart thinking i missed a gasket but all where there so i oiled the gaskets with 2 stroke and put all back together and torqued the 4 screws really good with my battery impact driver, retested pop-off and voila it holds air for a 30 seconds or longer pop-off on each carb was 20 psi each put em back on ski and after a 30 minute tuning session at the river it back to running and No More FLOODING.

Always check your pop-off after carbs are fully assembled before you install back on ski.

I have a hesitation at 3000 rpm and you can work the throttle to get past it and the ski runs fast 6700 rpm but the dead spot is there i Guess high speed screw needs adjusted out more but it out almost 3 full turns any help or info on this would be great thanks.

Your high speed is wayyyy too far out. Set it to the factory specs which should be 0 turns out. Also set your low at the factory spec

I wont rev at all

I have the low speed set to spec and that good

the high speed screw was set to zero but would not rev and no fuel was coming out id ventures till i opened them up to 2 1/2 turns out then finally it would rev what could be my issue?

If you are using aftermarket diaphragms... that's your problem. Most of them... the bellows are too tall and thick, so when you put the cover on... it pushes the needle open.

yea they were aftermarket kits but i adjusted the needle arm so that when covers was on the pop-off was still good is this wrong?

Yep... windrosa kits. The diagrams suck!!!!!!!! AND... that's your issue.

If you used the springs in the kit... that will also cause issues. (They are the wrong pressure and length)

The spring will hold the needle closed... and it takes vacuum to pull it open. And yes... it's wrong to try to listen for the pop-off with the cover. You set it open, and with oil on the needle.

So, if you want your ski to run... go buy new OEM Mikuni diaphragms, and springs. (simple as that)

the old diaphragms are still pretty good could i try cleaning and reusing just the diaphragms. and im using the stock springs that were in the carbs i got best results with them

would putting the air silencer back on make a difference Ive been running them with out due to being able to adjust easier.

Yes... if the stock springs and diaphragms are in good shape... just put them back in. Then, set the high and low adjusters to the stock settings. (Per the manual) Also... make sure the fuel needle arm is basically flat with the inner carb body.

Yes... put the air box back on. The carbs will lose "Signal" without it, and are harder to tune. BUT... if you did a proper job of cleaning... and you set them as per the manual... you won't have to tune them. I've rebuilt 100's of seadoo carbs, and they are run as they should.

The only thing you will have to do is set the idle, once warm, in the water.

I don't even think those kits are Winderosa ones. That link goes to a $16.50 kit. There is no way I can trust a kit that cheap. I used Winderosa's ones before but never used the springs. Maybe they make them worse now. I do use the Mikuni ones in my seadoo's. You did put in 2 new needles and seats from Mikuni. The aftermarket ones on those are are super cheap. They way like 1/2 the weight and look nothing like the OEM ones.

i just orders 3 new kits genuine Mikuni Kits from Atlantic jet sports
The old diaphragms were to far gone to trust using remember these carbs had never been touched since 95

Thanks for all you guys help and advice...

Probably didn't need full kits. The gaskets from the aftermarket kits are OK. You really only needed springs and diaphragms.

You can buy individual pieces? didn't know that i got kits for 33$ for genuine kits didn't think that was too bad

Ill keep the rest of the kits for next time i need a rebuild

$33 for OEM?? Good price. For that price, it will be good to have a few extra parts on the shelf.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but if you paid $32 from Atlantic you bought the round body kit, not the square body kit that is an additional $12 putting you at $44. MK-BN38/44 SPR is the square body kit.

You need to select the super bn, the round kit is the $33 one. There is a drop down menu. I've ordered from them on my 96xp.

Cool that they caught that. Did you get needle and seats? When I ordered the sold me aftermarket ones even after its asked several times if they were genuine.......with no reply. But needless to say they were just fine.

OK last night took carbs back off both skis and took apart diaphragm side of carb the old diaphragms were to messed up to use so I'm waiting for the kits from Atlantic to come i was experimenting and I laid diaphragm into place and used blow gun (air compressor) and blew air through the ventricle and it sucked the diaphragm down and opened needle i now fully understand how these things work and yes the difference in thickness and material of the old oem diaphragms to the cheap kits i got is way different the oem ones are much thinner and more flexible so i hope when they come it fixes my issue...
