Help! I was getting ready to launch my '92 SP after charging the battery.

With the boat still on the trailer, I pushed the starter button to make sure it was ready to go.

The starter kicked on, but wouldn't stop running after I released the button. I had to disconnect the battery to shut it off.

Needless to say, the boat didn't make it into the lake yesterday.

The shop manual suggests that the solenoid is bad, but I don't know anything about the electronics on PWCs.

I opened the control box, and found that the insulation on the yellow wire coming out of the rectifier was burned through.

Any advice on what to do next? This is an old boat, and I'm trying not to dump a bunch of $ into it.
