"O" rings...

If I remember right, the manual so states to change them at each oil change. I know I wouldn't put them back in my ski!

it just hit me

I was at work today, when it hit me like a ton of bricks, what gasket they recommend replacing with each oil change... I had never thought about this, and since I change my own oil, the gasket has never been changed...
So when I go pick up my oil, filter, and replacement drain plug (don't ask) I'll be purc hasing the gasket...

THANKS SEADOO FORUM!!!

Drain Plug

Man am I glad to hear it"s THAT drain plug your talking about!!!
I was having visions of you possibly removing some drain plug from your engine in order to change oil. That would have been a huge mistake!
Sorry for getting you ticked-off again but I just had to know.
Thanks, DAWG

Dennis

Ive seen these cheap on e-bay venders...the dealers have them too, as they fit all the models. I believe they are all the same size.

Oil Change - How often?

gents, how often should i change my oil? i changed my 06 rxp oil at 6 hours and now it has 40 hours. Is it time?

Also, what about using a synthetic oil or Prolong/Duralube to get an extra mph out of the engine. I can't get my 06 rxp or rxt past 69mph.

thanks,

matt

Your oil should first be changed at 10 hours with the 10 hour service and once every season or 100 hours of operation, whichever comes first.

About synthetic or mineral, it really depends on what type of engine you have. If you have the 215 SCIC engine you HAVE to use Seadoo Mineral Oil to avoid damage to the supercharger. If you have the 155 NA engine you can use either mineral or synthetic.

69mph is right where you should be...you are not going to get any faster out of your stock engine.

Hope this helps.

Matt

Thanks DCKD. So i guess i don't have to change it till 100 hours!? Wow, that is a long time. I won't even get there next year probably. I guess it won't hurt it to change at 60 hours. Right?

Not at all....change it for sure. It should be changed at least every riding season. If you ride less than 100 hours a season it should still be changed. If you live somewhere where you can ride all year long it should be changed every 100 hours...make sense?

Where I am from most people will never put 100 hours on a seadoo in a summer (I put on 80, which is a lot) but I had my oil changed at the end of the season so it will be ready for next year.

Hope that is more clear.

Matt
