I was at work today, when it hit me like a ton of bricks, what gasket they recommend replacing with each oil change... I had never thought about this, and since I change my own oil, the gasket has never been changed...
So when I go pick up my oil, filter, and replacement drain plug (don't ask) I'll be purc hasing the gasket...
One of the two on the outside of the craft, that for some reason cracked while sitting on the swim platform of our houseboat... You just had to ask, now I'm pi$$ed about it again...
wow I was right one time. look at both post times. I feel so good I finally got something right. lol but not at you about water drain plug I hope that never hapens to me. but I have to tell you it has been on my mind. robin
Man am I glad to hear it"s THAT drain plug your talking about!!!
I was having visions of you possibly removing some drain plug from your engine in order to change oil. That would have been a huge mistake!
Sorry for getting you ticked-off again but I just had to know.
Thanks, DAWG
yeah i'm actually ready to come home now. i'll be back to my ski a week after i get to the states. i should have just enough time to change all the fluids and check everything before its prime riding time
ha thanks for keeping me going. i havent crossed the day off the calender yet. every now and then i like to let a couple biuld up so i can cross off a couple at once....lol anyway i hit the states april 4th and i go to md april 11th and i'll see my rxp then.
its going to drive me crazy. i'm going to want to start messing around with it right away but i'll have to go visit family and stuff first....
Your oil should first be changed at 10 hours with the 10 hour service and once every season or 100 hours of operation, whichever comes first.
About synthetic or mineral, it really depends on what type of engine you have. If you have the 215 SCIC engine you HAVE to use Seadoo Mineral Oil to avoid damage to the supercharger. If you have the 155 NA engine you can use either mineral or synthetic.
69mph is right where you should be...you are not going to get any faster out of your stock engine.
Thanks DCKD. So i guess i don't have to change it till 100 hours!? Wow, that is a long time. I won't even get there next year probably. I guess it won't hurt it to change at 60 hours. Right?
Not at all....change it for sure. It should be changed at least every riding season. If you ride less than 100 hours a season it should still be changed. If you live somewhere where you can ride all year long it should be changed every 100 hours...make sense?
Where I am from most people will never put 100 hours on a seadoo in a summer (I put on 80, which is a lot) but I had my oil changed at the end of the season so it will be ready for next year.
