hello every1 i recently purchased a 05 3d and hasnt been in the water in almost 2 years, i replaced the inline oil filter, new oil ,fuel, plugs, and battery. Tried to hook it up to the hose to see it run longer than a couple sec. couldnt because the hose was twisting so i have a lake 2 min. away decided to test it out there ran perfect until i flipped it. Started right back up started heading in and it wouldnt revvv it would booggg and shut off but start right back up and bogg with full accelaration and stall out so i made it back. i felt the underside (im guessing the intake) and i felt what seemed like stiff rubber or soft thin plyable plastic so i managed to pull 2 peices out which i took pics of can someone tell me if this is a piece from the ski that broke and got bound up or trash from the lake (I DONT THINK ITS TRASH FROM THE LAKE) but i dont know anything about PWC. SO IF ANYONE CAN IDENIFY OR POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT THANKS ALL Josh

so im thinking its the wear ring?? if so how hard of a job is this and where can i order one? also should i replace anything else while im in there?? is there any o-rings, bearings, gaskets? that need to be ordered to complete the job thanks again everyone for the help!!!

Yes, you definitely need a new wear ring. You will need to pull the pump, inspect the impeller, change the cone oil. So you will need a new wear ring, cone "O" ring, and a neoprene gasket. You can get the parts by clicking "PARTS" at the top of this page.

Here's a thread on the subject. I would also recommend downloading a service manual for your ski, you can download one from this site if you join as a premium member, or just google for one.

(1)19 its a o-ring behind the cone?

Got the pump off question is the white ring around the impeller part of the wear ring???? Waiting for my parts to come in

Also any1 know what port go use to flush the system Downloaded the manual doesn't say anything about flushing system in there here's a pic

alright i have that same multi tool i ordered a impeller removal tool and also one more question i read somewhere someone putting there wear ring in the freezer or something would this make it easier to install

That's what I've always done, can't say for sure if it makes it any easier, because I've never installed one without putting it in the freezer. I also put a little vegetable oil on the ring.

the arrow is points to the fitting to hook a garden hose to to flush the system. just remember start engine first then water. turn off water first then engine.

Thank you also I was reading somewhere that I can get a quick connector at Walmart where abouts would it be and what's it's look like?

It's just a quick connector for a garden hose. Here's what I use, I think I got it at Lowes.

Another idea for the quick connect......here what I use. i also bought it at Lowes. I already have a shut off valve on my hoses so i just use that between the quick connect and the hose.

I leave the smaller end attached to the ski outlet at all times.

ok so i got the impeller out got what was left of the wear ring out. Now i got one more question the pump housing has 4 little screws that went into the FIBERGLASS ring of the wear ring now will my new OEM one have those or do i drill into the new one a 1/8 of a inch or what heres a pic

theres 2 on one side and 2 on the other

also does the jet pump oil (thats what my PWC calls for) does that go into the shaft to luberciate the needle bearings or do i have to grease those??

the oil goes into the shaft area. and keeps them bearings lubed. i would recommend replacing the seal as well.
it is on the impeller side.

I think you will find it difficult to drill the wear ring without damaging the female threaded holes, I would just install the anti-rotation screws if possible.

ok i got my wear ring now i wanted to know others input on the 4 screws that thread into the fiberglass part of the wear ring???
